I did, however, receive ?13 emails on a different topic, all saying the same thing by the same person.  Maybe one of those unexplained glitches?

I might find a topic interesting to comment once, but do not want to get e-mails every time some replies, so will some administrator tell me how to turn off this feature or unsubscribe......the link in the e-mails does not work.

Hope the outcome is successful! 

I asked the Webmaster about this problem a couple weeks ago. His answer:

For those you have responded to and are subscribed to, go to that topic, then click on 'Post Tools' (gear in upper right corner) and select 'Unsubscribe'

There's a 'Subscribe' checkbox at the bottom of the thread when you post a comment. Make sure it's NOT checked if you don't want to be notified going forward

Personally, I'd prefer if checked wasn't the default setting for the Subscribe box.

I found the setting for subscribing to posts. It is now set to NOT auto-subscribe. To verify, look
down here under Options when you enter a new posting. Make sure the Subscribe button is not checked.
