Wishing you every success! Sadly won't be joining you as it's a long swim from South Australia, but once the private jet is out of the repair shop...? Ri-i-i-ight! ^_^

That sounds great Craig, tell us more about your plans, where do you fly , do you have a contact address. Now's a good time to join the AKA. Lot's of benefit's. One is you have access to our membership list to find local members to help spread the word. I'm sure our Regional AKA director will look you up and offer help.
Thanks for sharing

windmaster,
About the Dead Bird Buggy Bash. Overview. The DBBB is a casual, no-schedule, no-races kite buggy regatta held each November over the Thanksgiving
You may consider attending this event on Galveston Island during Thanksgiving week this year, you meet some of your local kiters, other clubs in Houston area, etc.. Go to Dead Bird Buggy Bash on your internet explorer for more details! Good luck with your club and happy flying! AKA Region 8 is your area

Craig, just curious but why are you forming a new club in Houston when there is a very active club there in the South Houston Area Recreational Kiters? They have an active website and facebook presence and frequent flies.

Don't get me wrong I love seeing new energy and enthusiasm for kiting.

Re: Tight Kite Nnew kite club in Houston
Thanks for all your positive energy my fellow kite enthusiasts! May the wind always blow your direction. In regards to your questions concerning my decision to start a new kite club here in Houston; My response is simply this, my fellow members and I are cut from a different cloth than most members of your local area kite clubs. As you will soon see we will be pushing the boundaries of kite flying.
God Bless

Re: Tight Kite Nnew kite club in Houston
Hi Craig, reasonable reasoning. I joined a club when starting out in kiting . My interest was making kites and flying.
After I joined and spent time with them I discovered my interests were a bit different than many of the members, most were interested in doing club projects making ground displays . Nothing wrong with that. But, when I go to festivals I'd like to spend my time flying rather than hours putting up and taking down displays and guarding them during the day. Nothing wrong with displays, that's what excites spectators. Just not my cup of tea.
