The NKM Poster contest has a $50.00 gift certificate at the AKA store and you can look like Colin if your poster wins. Who is Colin you ask... The guy in the red sweatshirt on the left with the warm ears he answers. Well, thats not all. You will also receive $50.00 in cash for a $100.00 total. Its easy to enter and with the right poster you could be the winner. IF you cant draw your own picture then find your favorite Kite photo and add the required text and send it in. I like to think that I am responsible for making Whataduck famous... Then agian is is getting to alot of festivals and you cant miss Mikes winning poster including his huge yellow duck. You can brag about your picture being used around the world since it is an international celebration if you win. Last year under Gregs leadership you had the best performing Region in the country with 25 events and 12 workshps for a second place in that catagory. Keep an eye on Archie Stewart or better yet ask him how you can do a workshop since he was the top member in that catagory. I live in Region 8 and I hate to say we plan on taking the title back this year. Then again with the goals that I have for my region the numbers would be outstanding overall if you surpassed us. I really would like to see it happen,,,kinda.. Dont think that you have to do a festival to register an event. It can be as simple as a poster and picture display at the local city or school library. Each counts along with fun flys where you invite the public to learn more about kiting. Did I mention that if you show them how much fun your having they might want to join you and become a member of your club and the AKA? one good thing leads to another. Im sure Maggie will have more to say about this in the near future. Everyone likes a contest and someone has to win. Last year it was your region but since everyone was having fun with kites thier were no loosers.
