The North Dakota kiting community owes a debt of gratitude to Don and Betty Murphy for their wonderful support of our events over the last dozen years. Don was the first AKA Region 7 Director to contact me about what he could do to help kiting in North Dakota. Skydance Sakakawea Kite Festival and  Jamestown Kitefest celebrated their 18th and 17th years respectively last year and are better festivals because of Don's guidance and presence year after year. Personally, I am grateful that Don helped convince a newbie kitemaker to enter her train of kites in competition at the National convention in Billings, Montana. We did OK.
