Has Anyone Tried This iPhone App?
Has Anyone Tried This iPhone App?
Greetings -
Just wondering if anyone has tried this app:
"Hi. My name is Brian Koluder and I am a software developer and I have created an iPhone application that I think will be very helpful to your kite association members. It is a wind gauge that uses the phones GPS to show actual wind direction and speed from NOAA. Regardless of where you are or which way you are facing, the gauge will show you which direction the wind is coming from and at what strength. The application is only .99 cents and I think it would be well worth it to know the current wind conditions when flying those kites.
Here is a link with screen shots and more info on the application.

Thank you,
Brian Koluder"
If you have tried it, let us know your thoughts.

I got that offer too but I have and Android and I responded with that. He got back and wrote that he is working on an Android version. So, for $.99 I would be interested. But I want someone to give us some reviews on the ap

Re: Has Anyone Tried This iPhone App?
So, I could pay .99 cents for something that serves the same purpose as holding up a wet finger? I already use the Windfinder app, which gives me current meteorological data from weather stations all over the world (including one on the beach in Wildwood). Since the NOAA data comes from the airport (inland) or a weather buoy (offshore), it's less accurate than what Windfinder uses.

Re: Has Anyone Tried This iPhone App?
Windfinder if definitly great. Has the exact parking field we are at and has been dead on. Don't need a Droid or IPhone app if you have 3G or 4G, Windfinder has location exactly at Beach we fly at as well, and last summer was dead on every day we were there.

I like the idea of windfinder and have tried to use, just no locations near me and the no iphone looking for a good andriod one would be better. I have been using. weather buddy for android and works great, uses local weather stations which are all over inland. Plus it is free.

Re: Has Anyone Tried This iPhone App?
I like Windfinder.
I think it's superior to WindGuru which I used to use. It has many more locations and the initial display of favorites is easier to read.
