DOES ANYONE RECOGNIZE THIS KITE ?
DOES ANYONE RECOGNIZE THIS KITE ?
I believe this kite was named the "Beast", "Beast 49", or "B-49". I bought two of these from Reza back when I had a kite shop in the '80s. It is a gull-winged barrage kite, and I have one from left over inventory that has never been flown...still in the original case. The problem is there is no assembly instructions with it...I probably took the instructions out when I was flying the one shown in the attached photos. The one shown (red, black & white) was a steady flyer with a moderate pull, but it appears that the ripstop has shrunk (didn't know that was possible) and it won't fit together in any configuration I can muster. The ripstop on the unflown (sic) one still seems to be perfect, but I can't get the forward wing's "gull" section to go together properly. Does anyone have one of these kites ? Or better yet, have assembly instructions for it ? I have tried to contact Vertical Visuals in England, but can find no contact information. I think they are still in business, because Into the Wind still carries some of their rollers. Can anybody help with this ?
Many thanks in advance,

It looks like Reza's work
Jane Ambrose would know for sure who made the kite.
And yes, Reza did pass away a few years ago.
And yes he lived in Colorado.
Hope that helps

That is definitely one of Reza's designs...he made wonderful Roks ! His shop was called Hi Fly Kites, in Aurora, Colorado. He was a great talent.

Rick:
Do you have contact information for Jane Ambrose ? The kite I am inquiring about was produced by Vertical Visuals in 1982-83.
