If you have not heard yet Texas is home to the Worlds best Kite festival as voted on by the KTAI. The winning festival for 2010 is the South Padre Island Kite Festival that is put on by lots of hard work from Bill and Susie Doan with support fro the local club members and others. Due to thier unique location the area is home to quite a few AKA members from the midwest who spend the winter in the much freindlier warm weather of South Texas. Add the gulf winds to the warm weather and you the perfect place to fly kites all year long.
