Keystone Kiters Workshop
The following is a message from Cinda Shannon who is organizing the workshop.
There are still a few spaces left for the Wau Bulan Class. The teacher is the president of the Malaysian Kite Society and a kite maker of extraordinary talent. He is General Abu Ismail and is attending the USAWC for the year. We are extremely lucky to have him teaching this class. Where in the US would you find a class to teach skills like this. Just think of the kites you can design and build with these skills.
This will also be our Holiday party so there will be a dinner afterwords. If attending please contact me so we know what you are bringing for the Potluck.
Happy New Year
Cinda
The location is in a town called Camp Hill , Pa. the workshop is held in the Township meeting hall. If you have an interest or have additional questions Cinda can be reached via cindashannon@comcast.net
Think twice about this workkshop,it'll be a great opportunity to learn from an expert . I met Abu at the Keystone summer workshop and I'm impressed with his knowledge and skill's.

Re: Keystone Kiters Workshop
Anyone interested in building a very traditional kite?
I for one am really, really looking forward to this challenge and learning some new skills from a a master kitebuilder on January 22 just ouside Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The class will make the frame and a plain tissue paper skin before the end of the day. BUT everyone in the class wil be given the skills and supplies to create a fancy or very fancy finished Wau Bulan.
Still time to get yourself registered and join the Keystone Kiters for this really unique opportunity. The club already paid for the kits and their shipping from overseas so it we really need to fill this one up.
PS Keystone kiters e also acquired 3 finished Wau Bulans one fancy one very fancy and one in Ripstop they may be auctioned or raffeled. So if you're interested you might pick one up.

Great time at the workshop. Thanks to Abu Ismail for brining this traditional kitebuilding to the U.S. See his blog about it here.
