I regard this hi-jacking of my post to indulge in personal bickering as very rude and ignorant.  It also runs directly counter to what I was trying to get across in my other post about "Is this a forum?" in which I gave as my opinion that we ought to be more of a community, supporting each other and not indulging in negative behaviour.  Please take your argument with Ms Doran somewhere else.  I may not be one of the association's long-term members, but I think I am still entitled to a little respect on my posts.  Your behavior is a big turn-off as far as I am concerned, and that probably goes for others as well.

If you want to see a great kite forum try Fighter kite central forum. No politics just kites and grins. I'm not sure what you know about the AKA but as a past regional director and fighter kite committee member I'm pretty dam sure you have no clue what really goes on here.  So please don't go barking up the wrong tree.

Yes, I have a clue who I'm talking to - someone with no respect for other people and a huge idea of his own importance.

The AKA is surely ALL of the members, whoever they are, wherever they are, and however long they have been a member (in my case, less than two years.)   As for "owning" a post, I don't claim that.  But I do object strongly to anyone using a post I have made to attack another member or make some political point unconnected with my post.  Is that hard to understand? 

Are you trying deliberately to discourage anyone not in the "inner circle" from participating in the forum?  This is exactly the kind of thing I discussed in my later post "Is this a forum?"  As far as I am concerned, your behaviour certainly puts me off the idea of bothering to post again, so maybe you have succeeded.

By the way, Is there no moderation of this forum"  If so, I would have expected such hi-jacking of posts to indulge in totally off-subject bickering with other members would not be allowed.  Bullying of other members surely is not something that should be tolerated on any civilised forum, and I am now sorry I ever posted and gave this rude man the opportunity to start his ranting.  I have been trying to do my very small bit to encourage AKA membership.  I think I have been put off that now if this is the attitude that is allowed to prevail.

I invite you to chat amongst Region 13 members down in our regional section... and apart from the occasional detractor, AKA members love to appreciate the good works of others.

Thanks for your interest.  The site is really just a way to keep an old man occupied on days when he can't fly kites, but I hope it helps a few people somehow.  Do you have somewhere I can see photos of your kites/kite-flying activities?  The pilot kite you are holding in the photo looks great.
