1st Night (RI)
[Providence] 1st Night Providence is a grand celebration of New years Eve. There are dozens on venues with hundreds of acts throughout the day/night in providence. We'll hold a Kite flying clinic for 400 children and provide an indoor kite ballet demonstration each hour (Lam Hoac with host of indoor fliers)to be run from 6 - 11 PM in one of the main ballrooms of the RICC. We kick off the evening’s events with a 5:30 PM procession of artists involved in 1st Night. Our group flys kites through the streets of providence and ends at City Hall. Than the indoor clinic and demos begin! FYI, the next day (1/1/02) there will be a new years day fly at Brenton Point in Newport starting at noon. This is an annual event.
SDKC NYD FLY (CA)
[San Diego] SDKC Fun Fy for all types of kites features demos, raffle, auction and potluck lunch. This event typically attracts attendees from as far away as Washington state as well as all our favorite local fliers.

[Treasure Island] This is the 5th annual sport kite competition and kite fest. A treasure hunt, banquet, auction make this a great event for all ages.
         
[Oregon]
         
[Minneapolis] This is the first annual gathering of winter kite flyers on beatiful Lake Harriet, near downtown Minneapolis. This will be primarily a family event that will include single line flying, stunt kite demos, and kite sking. A heated tent will be provided as a warming house. Music to be provided by Mr. Kite, Craig Christensen. Come Join the Lake Hariet Farstead Associaton and the Minnesota Kite Society for a fun filled day on the ice.
