[Treasure Island] KiteMania- Join us for a fun, laid back weekend of kite flying!! We have kite flyers coming all over the United Sates and Canada. This event is about friends getting together and doing what they love, flying kites on Treasure Island Beach! If you love kiting, night flying, laughing, smiling, eating good food, partying, bubbling, music, this is the weekend for you!

Kiting Tampa Bay is hosting their second kite auction to benefit the Children’s Cancer Center of Tampa. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to directly the center. We are currently looking for donations to support this event. In 2013, KTB and the kiting community raised over $5000 and we would like to top that amount this year. Things begin on Friday night with an introduction to the projects, our presenters and other attendees. The kite making begins Saturday and runs through Monday morning. [Isla Blanca] This is a fund raising Fun event for Cancun Pro Kids. Cancun Pro kids is a orphanage for abused and abandoned children. We take them to the beach and show them how to fly a kite. They fly a kite they have made at a kite making workshop at the orphanage. The boys come one day and the girls the next. Donated kites are sold and raffled to raise money for the orphanage. Kite flyers from the US, Mexico, and other countries come and fly kites on the beach at Isla Blanca. The event is free to the public. Why not come and fly kites with us?.

[Austin] Texans celebrate the spring by flying every kind of kite imaginable and we’re doing it on Sunday March 1, 2015, in Austin, Texas. The ABC Zilker Park Kite Festival is an 86 year young single line competition. There is no admission or registration charge. The Zilker kite event typically draws a crowd well over 15,000. Everyone is welcome whether they fly their kite or just come to enjoy the hundreds of kites in the air and a great day in a beautiful park.
Competition is for single line kites but every kind of kite is welcome. Categories include largest, smallest, highest angle, steadiest, most unusual and strongest pulling. All ages are eligible to compete in categories for youth and adults. See our web page for events and rules. Trophies are awarded to first, second and third place winners. The Oldest and youngest competitors win trophies too. All kites entered must be home made.
