[West Chester, Ohio 45069] Come join us for the monthly PIGS Aloft kite fly, usually followed by supper at the "club house" otherwise known as TGI Friday’s. We start at Noon and fly until either the weather gets us or 4:00

[Delavan] DRESS REALLY WARM because Gift of Wings and the Lakelawn Resort are proud to announce the 5th Annual SKY CIRCUS ON ICE, the largest and most spectacular kite festival held ON ice in North America. SCOI is sponsored by GIFT OF WINGS, The City of Delavan, the Delavan Chamber of Commerce, The Kite Society of WI & IL, and Lakelawn Resort February 16th, 17th & 18th, 2018, from 10 am until 5pm with indoor performances on Friday and Saturday nights in the GREAT KITE ROOM, until 9:00 pm. This great event will take place ON THE ICE of Delavan Lake, at Lakelawn Resort, in the City of Delavan and it is all FREE. Featuring the most POWERFUL LINEUP OF KITE PERFORMERS IN NORTH AMERICA TODAY.
The Chicago Fire Kite Team, The Windjammers, Connor & Amy Doran, Jim Cosca, The Canadian Dream Team of Yves Laforest, Don Brownridge Anne Clement, and Randy, flying the Giant kites, Jean Lemire, Brett Williams, Elizabeth Gordon, Josh & Zach Gordon, Ann Vondriska, Jean lamoureux, and our kite making specialist, Jeanie Herrera as Miss Kite Lady, Mike Delfar, & Dan Newman. Indoor kite making & indoor kite flying, lessons by Jim Cosca, and a whole lot more. February 16th Amy and Connor Doran will be performing at the Schools in Delavan. Gift of Wings will be selling kites at the event.

[Long Beach] Workshop leaders will be Rod Beamguard and Charmayne and Bob Umbowers, well-known Northwest kite makers. During this kite making workshop participants will make the Heart Kite developed by Rene Maier of Switzerland. Participants will build 2 to 5 kites after making a choice of colors. This kite is approximately 33 inches wide and 31 inches tall and is a great flyer in steady winds of 5 to 8 mph. The framing of the kite allows the kite to be rolled into a 10 inch circle for storage. Cost will be $56 USD for the first two kites with additional kites available at $18 USD prepaid at the time colors are chosen. Color choices and payment are due no later than February 9, 2018. [Austin] Texans celebrate the spring by flying every kind of kite imaginable and we’re doing it on Sunday March 4, 2018 in Austin, Texas. The ABC Kite Fest is an 89 year young single line competition. There is no charge to enter the contest or the Kite Festival. Kite Showcase by Go Big or Go Home will be presented 10am to 4pm. The Zilker kite event typically draws a crowd well over 20,000. Everyone is welcome whether they fly their kite or just come to enjoy the hundreds of kites in the air and a great day in a beautiful park.
Competition is for single line kites but every kind of kite is welcome. Categories include largest, smallest, highest angle, steadiest, most unusual and strongest pulling. All ages are eligible to compete in categories for youth and adults. See our web page for events and rules. Trophies are awarded to first, second and third place winners. The Oldest and youngest competitors win trophies too. All kites entered must be home made.
