[Milwaukee] Fireworks Kite Festival - July 3, 2011..BOOM BOOM.. KSWI in conjunction with Gift of Wings, US Bank, and Your Milwaukee County Parks, www.CountyParks.com, will sponsor our annual Fireworks Kite Festival. Featuring the Giant Kites of Yves LaForest. This is a fun fly and all are welcome to participate. Our goal is to fill the sky with as many kites as possible. This is a FUN FLY, and we will be flying the Mega kites of Yves Laforest. Times from 11:00 am until 6:30 PM, then 7:30 PM until the fireworks start at 9:25 pm. We have set aside a huge area of Veterans Park just for kitefliers. So fly a kite and get the best seats in the house for the greatest fireworks show on Earth. Well...in my opinion, of course. Now understand that traffic and parking are a real mess for this event, so come early and don't plan on leaving until after the fireworks are finished at 10:15pm. In other words, plan your whole day in the park. It’s a blast.

The turf is the very BEST in Colorado, the City Of Thornton prides itself on this, hence the relocation of Soccer, etc. We suggest you bring a dish or two, as there will be a Barbecue at the Snider residence nearby, after 5PM or perhaps earlier if the wind is Dead and arms are tired of flipping the OCIUS around in all directions! Wind permitting, the "GO BIG OR GO HOME" Giant Deltas will RULE the Valley once again, on this Kite Day! All genre of Kites welcome and encouraged here. Plenty of Room for Buggies or Landboard if wind permits! Please RSVP with what Side Dish you're bringing to let Karen know what to plan around |

PCKA Fun Fly (WA)
[University Place] Meeting and picnic at 7:00 PM.
Get there early and stay late to fly. |
[Berkeley] At the Berkeley Kite Festival, it seems that a fresh surprise awaits around every corner. In one amphitheater, you’ll find multi-line competitions of the Bay Area Sport Kite League. In another, you’ll find events and other competitions, such as the candy drops and rokkaku battles. Just down the hill from the Wrangler Field, visitors can get hands-on demonstrations of all the latest products from Ozone Kites, Revolution Kites, and Prism Designs. Backing up the demo fields is the giant HighlineKites.com tent, where you can get the best kites. Behind the kite tent, you’ll see hundreds of kids enjoying the free kite making and, behind them, a designated area along the ridge for families and their kites. Each area of the festival will give you a different taste of what kiting has to offer. If you find that your stomach should start to growl, simply follow ridgeline west to the widest array of food offerings ever seen at the BKF. Need a full meal? How about sushi, Thai food, or seafood? Just want a snack? How about corn on the cob, pretzels or, our favorite, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream? Everything looks so good, you’ll wish you could have one of each!
