PCKA Fun Fly (WA)
[University Place] Monthly meeting / fun fly
[Lincoln City] Plan on attending Oregon's premier Indoor Kite Festival in Lincoln City, March 28 & 29, 2009. Yes, it's true. If you have the right kite and know how to do it, you can fly kites indoors without wind---and have great fun even if the weather outside is frightful! So everyone can enjoy this great sport, Lincoln City hosts internationally known performers to demonstrate the art and teach kids of all ages how to soar without wind. The festival is as much ballet as kite flying. When performer Debbie Park of California climbs 30 feet above the gym floor, wraps herself in curtain-like ropes, and performs, it’s more like Cirque du Soleil. Lincoln City Indoor Kite Festival is a sanctioned event of the American Kitefliers Association. The Indoor Kite Festival will culminate with an American Kitefliers Association Indoor Competition on Saturday afternoon. Trophies will be awarded for the top three finishers in each category.
