[Perrin] Fourth Annual Fun Fly with live entertainment Friday night, Saturday fun fly with whimsical trophies for competitions, teams, and individuals including kids events. Food vendor, kite vendor. Sponsored by Mitchell Resort and RV Park - one of America's most beautiful parks.
       
[Port Allen] Central Texas Cloud Chasers Kite Club will be at the festival to perform. They will also have a kitemaking workshop for children and an area where the general public can fly. This is the 5th year for the festival.
[Santa Barbara] The 24th annual Santa Barbara Kite Festival, will take flight 11am-4pm, Sunday, April 5th, 2009. The festival will be held in the “Great Meadow” on the west campus of Santa Barbara City College. The blufftop lawn overlooks the beautiful Santa Barbara harbor and breakwater and is a perfect location for kite flying. Parking is plentiful on campus and admission to the festival is free. The Santa Barbara Kite Festival is always a fun-filled family-style affair featuring kites of all sizes, shapes and colors. Flyers of all abilities are welcome.Competitions range from “kite fighting” and “sport flying” for skilled flyers, to the more accessible categories such as “most beautiful”, “highest flying”, and “largest kites”. One of the most popular events held throughout the day is the “tail chase” for children. Children in various age groups try to catch the tail of a kite as it dips and dives through the air. Last year, our youngest was in diapers and our oldest flyer was 87. Many of the more seasoned flyers bring unusual and complex kites. [Bodega Bay] As part of Sonoma County Regional Parks’ month-long celebration of parks in April, Doran Regional Park is hosting the 5th annual ‘Castles & Kites’ on Saturday, April 25 from 11am to 4pm. This park is located south of Bodega Bay at 201 Doran Beach Road.This free, fun-filled event will include opportunities to watch sand castle ‘experts’ at their craft. [Virginia Beach, Portsmouth] Welcome to the 5th Annual Virginia Beach Kite FestivalOur festival is geared for families and you can see many different types of kites - single line, dual line, and multiple-line kites. We invite you to engage the flyers and ask questions and above all, fly your kites. If you are interested in a particular kite or in kite flying, please ask and one of the fliers will be glad to answer your questions or teach you how to fly.Many of the fliers come from local kite clubs – Richmond Air Force or “RAF” from Richmond and Wings Over Washington or “WOW” from the D.C. area. Also featured are kite fliers from the New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Florida. Most flyers are members of the American Kitefliers Association (AKA), a national organization dedicated to educating the public in the art, history, technology, and practice of building and flying kites.Many of us fly in National Competitions. Some make their own kites being judged on their sewing skills, choice of color combinations, eye impact, themes, and aerodynamics. Multi-line kites competitors fly (or draw) figures in the air (squares, triangles, circles and more complex figures). Another competition event is called ballet where one or more fliers fly their kite(s) to music. Their goal is to bring an interpretation to the music through the movement of the kite(s).Thanks for joining us and have a great time!

We open the kite festival with a party at the Courthouse Galleries, in Portsmouth and work our way into fun for the whole weekend. Vendors will be selling their kites and products. The Richmond Air Force (RAF), Wings Over Washington (WOW) and members of several other kite clubs (New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Florida) will be providing demonstrations and instructions for dual and quad line kite flying for all the events. So please come and meet the kite flyers. [Cedar Hill] GNTKF is an AKA sanctioned event, competition and fun fly open to public; One of the premier kite flys in the DFW area.
         
[Montpelier Station] The annual Montpelier Wine and Kite festival is a weekend event full of fun and flying held on the estate of President James Madison. Members of the Wings Over Washington kite club, along with Sky Jewels Kites will be there, providing kite flying demos, kite making for kids/adults, and bol races. In addition, we'll have several large kites being flown. Free kites for kids will be available throughout the two days of the festival.
         
[Fayetteville] Spring kite fest to be held in Fayetteville, AR. We had 225 participants in our Fall festival. We're expecting double that. It's a fun fly designed for families. We did have about a dozen AKA Kiters from OK, MO, and AR. to fly their larger kites. We hope to have more this Spring.
[Rochester] “Kite Flight 2009,” an annual event of expert kite-flying demonstrations, kite-making workshops, public kite flying and family entertainment, takes place 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., Sun., May 3rd, at Ontario Beach Park, headquartered at the Robach Community Center. A free kite making workshop sponsored by City recreation staff and Wonder Works will be offered for children to learn how to make their own kites. Refreshments will be available for purchase, with all proceeds supporting programs of the Charlotte Community Association. [Lyon Township] This is a fun fly for kids and their parents. There will be free kites for the kids, and a kite store for the adults.

Rain date will be Sunday, May 3rd. If both May 2nd and 3rd are bad weather days, the event will be held on Saturday, May 9th.
