[Milwaukee] Fireworks Kite Festival - July 3, 2010..BOOM BOOM.. KSWI in conjunction with Gift of Wings, US Bank, and Your Milwaukee County Parks, www.CountyParks.com, will sponsor our annual Fireworks Kite Festival. Featuring the Giant Kites of Yves LaForest. This is a fun fly and all are welcome to participate. Our goal is to fill the sky with as many kites as possible. This is a FUN FLY, and we will be flying the Mega kites of Yves Laforest. Times from 11:00 am until 6:30 PM, then 7:30 PM until the fireworks start at 9:25 pm. We have set aside a huge area of Veterans Park just for kitefliers. So fly a kite and get the best seats in the house for the greatest fireworks show on Earth. Well...in my opinion, of course. Now understand that traffic and parking are a real mess for this event, so come early and don't plan on leaving until after the fireworks are finished at 10:15pm. In other words, plan your whole day in the park. It's a blast.
The Kite Society of Wisconsin and Illinois....It doesn't get any better than this....

[Jersey City] I know this maybe a little last minute. But, Liberty State Park New Jersey will be set up for red white and blue (RWB) kite flying on the July 4th. The city had planned for fire works and live entertainment. That has been canceled due to budget problems. And this gives a opportunity to start a new kite event at the park with a built in crowd base. If we can put on a good show, it can grow into something major in the future. This is a chance to start exposing kiting to a LARGE population in the Northeast every July 4th. Anyone with Red White and Blue Kites (any type) and/or can do demos (of any kind) can come LSP and enjoy some sweet Liberty wind. We will need help and volunteers from any club or anybody! New people, old people, novice, experts or folks that have been wanting to meet kitefliers. If your into kites and want to help support the sport, please come on over. The great thing is that we do not have to pay the park for this event or the one in August 28, & 29, which would help out the NJSKC event (could come back with help). It‚s going to be less people then if the Jersey City was paying for the Fireworks. But plenty of people come to the park to try and see Macy's fireworks in NYC. If I can get conformation on who is coming, I will get some catering too. I maybe able to get some one night rooms (limited) also, although it’s kind of late in the game. We have just about the whole front “Green Lawn” area to use including the circle to fly. This could turn into the biggest RWB kite festival ever!

[Richmond] RAF Monthly Club fly on the Football fields at Dorey Park. Single Line, Sport and Fighters welcome and appropriate - NO MANJHA string!

[Oregon] This is the 26th year for the De Evolution of the kite festival.

We don't invite big name guests and have no competition of any kind, except for a Rok battle, but you can proclaim yourself the winner without even flying.

[Anchorage] A dual fly in conjunction with the Alaska kite fliers and the MN Kite Society. It is support of the Alaska Wilderness League and the 50th Anniversary of the Alaska Wilderness. The connection is the migration of birds that fly from the tundra of Alaska through Minnesota and beyond.

It started with me receiving some paper kites made in China at a Earth Day event here in the cities at Wishes For the Sky. These kites will be taken to Alaska with me on 03 July and be flown in Denali then be part of an event in Anchorage at 5PM. Information has been sent to the Alaska club. They did participate in a earlier event.

Then they will come back and fly at an event in the Cities 11 Dec which closely marks the 50th anniversary of the Alaska Wilderness.
