[Treasure Island] New Years Day On Treasure Island Beach - Crazy Hat Day Fly!!!
Start the new year right by flying a kite! Put on your craziest hat and come come fly with us!! Help us fill Treasure Island Beach with Kites. Bring your single line, sport kites, revs, fighter kites, trains, mini kites, kap rigs, bowls, bear drops, banners, bubbles, & anything that flies!
Time - 12-4 ( or later)

[Denver] A Mile Hi Kite Club /RMKA meets every Sunday at approx. 10AM and we keep flying kites until mid to late afternoon.
     
[Milwaukee] The COOL FOOL KITE FESTIVAL..Thursday, New Years Day, 2015.. 11 am until 5 pm. in Veterans Park on Milwaukee’s Lakefront. This is a FREE event, with plenty of FREE parking. We will have Free Hot Chocolate, Coffee, and Snacks, compliments of Bella Caffe, while they last. This is a "Fun Fly" so bring your kite or pick up a kite at Gift of Wings at the park. See Sarah, Noreen, Bob, and Emily, our quiet ice artists, carve blocks of ice into masterpieces before your very eyes. Ice carving lessons will also be available. Brett Williams, the Kite Whispererer, will be on hand to show everyone how to fly a kite. The Giant kites of Gift of Wings will also be flying high over Milwaukee’s Lakefront. Gift of Wings, now has the largest collection of giant kites in the Midwest. Hot food is also available for purchase. This festival is brought to you by Gift of Wings, B93.3 Radio, 102.1 WLUM AND WMCS Radio, Bella Caffe, and the Kite Society of Wisconsin and Illinois.Thanks to our friends at Milwaukee County Parks. [Rockaway Beach] 19th Annual Oregon Kitemakers Retreat

[Treasure Island] THE 18th Annual TREASURE ISLAND SPORT KITE CHAMPIONSHIP returns to Florida in 2015 (as part of the annual Treasure Island Kite Festival). Following the successful revival of the competition in 2010, TISKC has reclaimed its prominence as one of the premier sport kite events of the year. Competitors from up and down the East Coast will gather at Treasure Island, FL during the Martin Luther King Holiday weekend January 17th-18th 2015, for two days of excellent competition with plenty of time to socialize on one of the best kite flying beaches in the country. This year, TISKC is presented by Windworks.
Join us on Saturday for kite flying demonstrations, pair & team flying exhibition, and kite flying lessons, provided by champion Eastern League Kite Flyers. On Sunday, the festival kicks into high gear with the sport kite competition, featuring a full day of dazzling aerobatic kite flying set to music, scored by judges. When the sun goes down, the event keeps on going! Join us on TI beach for giant bubbles and night kite flying (weather & wind permitting).
As with previous years, TISKC will be offering Team Multiline Precision and Ballet as disciplines! Given the growing popularity of group multiline flying and the growing experience out there, this event will be spectacular.
TISKC will also be offering a novice class competition for multi-line precision and ballet. If you haven’t participated in a multi-line competition, this is your chance!
Individual precision events for Experienced and Masters classes will be run according to program precision (formerly called league-style) rules. This format has proven to be more audience friendly and allows for a speedier running of the competition.
Of course, Monday is a holiday, so we hope you will plan on staying an extra day for recreational flying. January weather in Florida is usually ideal for kites, with mild temperatures and steady winds, so take full advantage of the opportunity to fly on the white sandy beach while many parts of the co
