The eighth annual Blossom Kite Festival showcases the creativity of kite makers and skill of fliers from across the US and other countries through a variety of competitions and demonstrations, Rokkaku Battles and the Hot Tricks Showdown. [Livingston] Kite fliers and spectators of all ages will experience a visual feast at the 7th Annual Knights of Columbus “Time to Fly” Kite Festival and Community Health Fair Sunday April 8, 2018. This popular festival will feature a variety of activities for kids of all ages from 0 - 99+! The Merced County Sheriff’s Huey Helicopter will land to kick of the event and the First 500 Kids get a free Kite so get there early. The Kite Festival is presented by Livingston Community Health, Hot 104.7 and Radio Lobo. 98.7 Admission to the kite festival is FREE.
Livingston Community Health will provide a FREE full-service health fair with free preventative screenings and resources for the community. Come get your FREE blood glucose, blood pressure, and vision checked along with FREE dental screenings!
Everyone is invited to take part in Kite Building Contest. To enter the contest, participants can enter a kite that they made at home or at festival Kite Building Workshops (no kite kits). The contest consists of two parts: the actual kite itself (how it looks and how well it is made), and the participant’s ability to fly the kite. Participants must be able to fly their kites consecutively in the air for 3 minutes at a height of 100 feet. Kites will be judged on Flight (ability to fly for 3 minutes), Structural Design, Craftsmanship, and Visual Appeal. There will be three competitive age groups 7-14, 15-17, and 18+. Trophies will be awarded for each age groups. The Kite Building Contest is free to enter and takes place from 1:30-3:00pm. All Kites must be registered by 12pm to be entered in contest.
Other activities will include GIANT Kite Flying Demonstrations, the “Jim Strealy” Memorial Sugar-Free Candy Drop, a Rubik’s Cube solving contest, the Rotary Club of Livingston Pie Eating Contest, various cultural performances plus Face Painting, Bounce Houses, Crafts, Kite, and informational Vendor booths, plus and safety demonstrations from PG&E, Livingston Police, Fire, CHP, and Merced County Sheriff. [Lombard] A free event being offered during the Lombard Park District’s Time For Tots event by the Kiwanis Club of Lombard and Healthy Lombard. Each child will receive a free kite to decorate and info on Kite Month. They will be encouraged to go out into the park and try to fly their kites or take them home and fly on another day during April. The events lasts from 10 AM until noon.
[SANTA BARBARA] The theme and date has been announced for the 2018 Santa Barbara Kite Festival. The theme for Santa Barbara’s ever popular community kite festival this year is “Color The Wind”. The 33rd Annual Santa Barbara Kite Festival will color the wind Sunday, April 8 2018 from 11am-5pm on the west campus lawn at Santa Barbara City College.
Kite Master Rakesh Bahadur created the theme to emphasize the tremendous beauty festival goers experience each year while participating in the festival. “It’s always amazing to us how much color is added to the sky each year at the festival. Please come and participate.”.
Sure to generate more color that knows no bounds this year will be the “Children’s Tail Chase”- featuring the master kite flying of Mr Bahadur as child participants chase and try to capture the tail of the kite. The festival will also include new kite contests include “Best of Fest”, “Best Ground Display (banners, flags display), “Youngest & Oldest Kite Flyers”, “Most Unique/Unusual Kite”, “Funniest Kite”, and “Most Unflyable Kite”! Other popular contests returning include “Most Beautiful” (handmade & commercial), “Highest Flying”, “Largest & Smallest Kites”, “Kite Fighting” and “Sport Flying”. Prizes will be awarded to all contest winners. The festival is held each year on the west campus of Santa Barbara City College, 973 Cliff Drive, Santa Barbara, Ca 93109. Admission to the festival is free. Parking is available on both west campus and the main campus. Kites, food, and beverage can be purchased at the festival.
Thanks to a proclamation by the Santa Barbara City Council a decade ago, the month of April was officially dubbed “Kite Month” in Santa Barbara. The Santa Barbara Kite Festival was also recognized by the city for its annual contributions to community recreation and family fun. Santa Barbara’s kite month of April is promoted in coordination with the National Kite Month of April - co-founded by the American Kite Flyers Association and the Kite Trade Association International .

[Bel Air] The festival is held in mid-April each year at Rockfield Park in the Town of Bel Air, MD. The first Festival was held on April 15, 2004. The first festival was well attended by kids of all ages. The first Festival was so popular that it was apparent that we needed to grow the festival. The Town of Bel Air along with APG Federal Credit Union provided funding & assistance to make the Festival a success. The Wings over Washington Kite Club attended to put on kite demonstrations & to bring the Clubs sound system. Best of all, Jeff King served as our Master of Ceremonies.After the first Festival, the event as attracted approximately 1,500 participates. Each year 500 to 600 better quality kites are given to attendees at no cost. [Morro Bay] The Morro Bay Kite Festival is a FREE annual community event focused on family and the art of kite flying is April 27-29, 2018. Our goal is to bring all individuals, families, and all generations together in a safe, relaxing and fun environment, to learn and participate in the art of kite flying, Morro Bay style. [Ocean City] SAVE THE DATES for two great events: 2018 Maryland International Kite Exposition (MIKE) April 27-29 and the Mid-Atlantic Stunt Kite Championships (MASKC) April 28-29 in Ocean City, Maryland USA.
The Maryland International Kite Exposition features three fun filled days of kite flying on the beautiful beaches of Ocean City, Maryland. Throughout the festival, there will be kite exhibitions and demonstrations including free stunt and power kite lessons, children’s games and activities, bubble arts and more. The festival will showcase some of the best kites, kite flyers and kite makers from the USA and world.
Colorful kites of all shapes and sizes will be flying high above the beach & boardwalk including character and theme based kites. The sky will be filled with mythical, imaginary and life-like creatures including whales, sharks, crabs, horses, fish, cats, dogs, tigers, and owls, trilobites, dragons, flying pigs, a Pegasus, hippocampus and more.
The two day, Mid-Atlantic Stunt Kite Championships will feature individual, pairs, and team stunt kite competition performances by novice to master kite flyers in precision and ballet events. Many of these performances will be choreographed to music demonstrating the skills, creativity and artistry of the competitors.

14th Annual Atlantic Coast Kite Festival
Now 3 days in Virginia Beach at 17th Street on the Boardwalk

Hi ACKF supporters/attendees/flyers and fun loving friends,
Wow kite flyers it’s almost time for the 13th Atlantic Coast Kite Festival this year in Virginia Beach, Virginia for 3 days.
We open the kite festival with a get together at the beach again this year with a Night Kite Fly on Friday with drinks and food just for the kite festival attendees.
From there we work our way into fun for the whole weekend for 2 days in Virginia Beach. We again have a limited amount of hotel rooms for kite fliers and volunteers. Almost all meals are provided for flyers during the festivals with additional get-togethers Friday and Saturday nights.
We also offer gas money to some coming in from far away. So, pack a car full of fliers, kites, volunteers and enthusiasts and come join us.

[Rigby] This is a community fun fly. Everyone is invited to attend at no cost. We will be flying from Noon till 5pm. There will be afree kite building class from noon till 3pm. Running of the Bols and other fun fly events.

[Easton] Please come join us for an event over a quarter of a century in the making! The 28th Annual Kite Day In The Park at Louise Moore Park in Easton, PA. Event runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm. It’s sure to be a day full of flying & FUN for all ages! Free Kids Kitebuilding for the first 100 kids! Free admission and parking. Light refreshments available for purchase.
 
         
[Waco] Free family event, kite flying, games, bounce houses, candy drops, raffles and prize wheel, music and food vendors. All net profits remain in central Texas to
benefit hard of hearing children,m Region 12 nurses, and scholarships for students entering the hearing, speech, and interpreting fields in school.
