[Beech Mountain] Family Fun Kite Festival. Sport Kite Demonstrations, Giant Show Kites, Kite Games, free kites for kids (supplies are limited) food vendors on site, as well as portable restrooms. Saturday afternoon there will be a kite makers competition for home-built kites. Sunday there will be competition for largest, smallest, best decorated, highest flying (must start on the ground and reach maximum altitude within a limited amount of time.)
         
[Two Rivers] Once again, Neshotah Beach in Two Rivers is the place to be this Labor Day Weekend. The 13th Annual Kites Over Lake Michigan, brought to you by our Title Sponsors Fox Communities Credit Union and Shoreline Credit Union, will be held there on Sept. 1st and 2nd, 2018.
This is one of the largest kite festivals in the Midwest, attracting kitefliers and people from all over the country. Those who come will be treated to some incredible displays of giant show kites of every type and size, precision stunt teams performing amazing aerial ballet with their kites, spectacular and colorful ground displays and activities for kids and the public both days.
The fun does not stop at the end of the day on Saturday because we will have a mass release of Sky Lanterns followed by a Fireworks Show finale, weather permitting. Sky Lanterns will be available for sale at the beach and UFO, and only 100% bio-degradable Sky Lanterns will be allowed to be released there. Those with metal wires and candles will not be allowed. On Sunday morning, we will have free kite making for kids from 9.00 am to 11.00 am.
There will be a shuttle bus service from the Two Rivers High School to the beach for both days.

[Kill Devil Hills] Take flight where flight first began with Kitty Hawk Kites and the Wright Brothers National Memorial. Enjoy a walk on the hallowed grounds where Wilbur and Orville took their historic first flight in 1903, then come join us for some fun flight of your own.Large 30 – 100 foot kites will be flying high on display. We invite you to come fly kites of your own, take FREE stunt and power kite flying lessons, and bring the kiddos on over to our kite making station.Admission to the park is $7, but participation in the kite festival is totally FREE!The Wright Brothers National Memorial grounds are open daily from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
         
[Medora] Hot Air Balloons lift off early from the Badlands Motel lawn then we head up to the amphitheater afterwards and start to set up kites. Enjoy the skys over Medora with hot air balloons and kites!
Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets and kites and come spend the weekend in Medora!

[Ogunquit] The 20th Annual Capriccio Festival of Kites will be held on September 8th, 2018, on the Ogunquit Beach from 9am to 2pm. The Festival is part of a two week celebration of the Arts. Over 300 kites will be given away to kids to decorate and fly. All volunteers that help with set-up, kite decorating, or demonstrate any kite flying will receive a free Capriccio Kite Festival t-shirt and free parking. Come early, stay late, and help us decorate the skies with kites.

[Cape Canaveral] Join in on the family fun at the Beach & Kite Fest presented to you by the city of Cape Canaveral, Florida. This event will include kite demonstrations, free kites for the first 150 kids, kid sand sculpture contest and much more! Food will be available and will benefit the BCSO Police Athletic League.

[Ocean City] See the skyline of Ocean City explode with color at the Kite Loft’s Sunfest Kite Festival. All are welcome to witness and participate in general kite flying, kite flying games, Bol races, candy drops, sport kite demonstrations, a kids kite fly, bubble arts and just plain kite spectating. Best part of all, it’s free.
Featured this year will be a Giant Kite Air Extravaganza put on by regional flyers. Kites of many shapes will fill the sky including mythical, imaginary and life-like creatures like whales, horses, fish, trilobites, cats, dogs, tigers, pegasus, hippocampus, owls, sharks, dragons and more.
This is a don’t miss event for young and old alike. Bring your kite, camera and beach blanket, pray for wind and have a spectacular time.
       
[Cherry Valley] The biennial Cherry Valley Kite Festival will be held for the 7th time this September. Held in a beautiful and historic village in upstate New York the flying field is located on a pre-revolutionary war era farm field with fantastic and unencumbered views of the fall foliage
Many flyers have been returning year after year to enjoy the small town atmosphere and warm hospitality.
The event opens with a kite building workshop and an Indoor Fly on Friday evening. There is a Kid’s Kite building workshop on Saturday morning. The all-day outdoor fly includes Running of the Bols, Rokkaku battle, Team flying demonstrations, a candy drop and more. The event features live music and a huge variety of wonderful food.
All fliers are invited to a Saturday evening thank you dinner hosted by Cherry Valley Artworks.

[Brooklyn] A 2-day, free, family-friendly event that features children’s activities, flying for fun, and music. This event encourages both participants and spectators to travel to Coney Island beach and enjoy the beautiful weather and kites.
         
[Waynesboro] A great day of kite flying in the heart of Shenandoah Valley. The day boasts free kite giveaways, hay rides, kite flying demonstrations, pumpkin painting, apple slinging, vendors, and food. Master of Ceremonies Will Smoot. This is a free event. Kite vendor will be present- cash only.
