Comments:
Montpelier is the lifelong home of James Madison, fourth president of the United States and "Father of the Constitution." An estate of 2,700 acres of rolling pastures, formal gardens, an old-growth forest, and breathtaking vistas, Montpelier was described by Madison as just "a squirrel’s jump from Heaven." The Montpelier Wine Festival celebrates the agricultural heritage of James Madison - called "the best farmer in America" by Thomas Jefferson - and the legendary hospitality of his wife, Dolley.
