Description:
|
This is a fun fly with no formal competition. There will be teddy bear drops, candy drops, lots of informal stunt kite demonstrations, fighter kite demonstrations, and perhaps a rokaku battle. There will be music and a PA system for announcements, and the local kite store (Out of the Blue Cafe, Bakery, and Kites) will be selling kites. This kitefly draws fliers from around the southeast-mostly Atlanta, Huntsville, and Nashville, and attendance will be around 300 to 400 people.

Directions:
Coming from Atlanta, follow the interstate signs to Knoxville, but soon after getting on I-75N, stay in the right lane and follow the directions to the airport or Chickamauga Dam (Hwy 153) or if coming from Knoxville (follow the directions to the airport and Chickamauga Dam or Hwy 153). Get off Hwy 153 just before crossing the dam on Amnicola Hwy. Just past the Chattanooga State Community College, turn off at the entrance to the TN Riverpark. You will see the kites very soon.
