Description:
Now in its 8th year, the festival offers a great time for kite flyers of all ages and abilities. Come out and join Wings Over Washington (WOW) and Sky Jewels Kites. We'll be performing demonstrations, holding kids kitemaking classes (with prizes), giving lessons Running the Bols! We'll also be putting up as much "sky candy" (Giant Lobsters, FlowForms, etc). as we can. Sky Jewels Kites will be there too, with a great selection of the latest in sport kites and single line kites, as well as boomerangs and lighted frisbees, flags and garden spinners.
The festival runs from 11am to 6pm on Saturday, and from noon until 5pm on Sunday.

From Washington, D.C. (About 2 hours)
From 66 West, take Route 29 south to Culpeper, exit onto Route 15 south towards Orange. At Orange, take a right at the second stoplight onto Route 20 south. Go about 4 miles, the Montpelier Visitor Center is on the right.

In conjunction with the kite festival, Montpelier is also hosting its annual Wine and Craft Festival. So, if you have family members who don't want to fly (!), there are other activities for them to enjoy.
