Description:
The St. Augustine Sport Kite Club and Extreme Kites are very excited to welcome you once again to “America’s Oldest City” for the fourth edition of the St. Augustine Sport Kite Classic (SASKC). Top competitors of all ability levels from all over the United States will converge on St. Augustine Beach for two days of exciting dual- and multi-line sport kite competition.
This year’s event promises to be even more exciting as we add a full day of Tricks Party USA competition on Sunday. If you have not heard, Tricks Party™ is a relatively new style of competition developed in France in 1999 by Roger and Sylvie Tessa-Gambassi. Tricks Party™ has become a favorite among European sport kite competitors, but was only recently introduced into the United States in mid-2005. Tricks Party competition places more emphasis on tricks than traditional competitions, and results in a fast-paced and exciting style of competition that is very spectator-friendly.
In addition to the sport kite competitions, there is plenty of room for recreational flying, and single-line kite flying is expected and encouraged. Best of all, this event is FREE to spectators and recreational flyers, and you can be a part of it!! Let’s see how many kites we can get in the air. Bring your kites and help us fill the sky with color!!

St. Augustine Beach has been the recipient of a much-needed re-nourishment project this past summer. As a result, we once again have a nice wide beach on which to fly. This year’s competition venue is located at the beach access inside Anastasia State Park, 1340A A1A South, just south of the Anastasia Lighthouse.

Comments:
In addition to the on-beach activities, Saturday evening will feature a kite auction and an indoor fun-fly at at the Ketterlinus Gym, 75 Orange Street, St. Augustine, beginning at 7:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the auction, the gym will be opened up for indoor flying. Bring your indoor kites, or use one of ours. If you have never experienced indoor flying, you are in for a treat.
Park admission is $5/vehicle per day. All competitors must register, and all other flyers must sign a waiver. Please visit www.saskc.net for more information and registiration forms.
