The annual Junction Kite Makers' Retreat is held during Memorial Day Weekend at the Texas Tech Extension Campus at Juntion, TX. Classes are informal, the huge kite field is inviting, and folks are nice. In fact, it’s basically summer camp for grownups! Come join in! Instructor proposals are accepted up through March. Feel free to email for additional information and please entitle "Junction."

I-10 and Hwy 83 intersection; About 89 miles NW from San Antonio, TX and about 90 miles directly South of Abilene. Then South through town, 2 mi, turn right (West), drive a ways, then onto the campus.

Pre-registration is important so we can plan on meals and housing in advance. $25 pre-registration fee, which will be deducted from the $225 total for the weekend. Fee covers most materials, meals, and housing, class room rental and insurance. A few of the classes may have an additional $1.00 - $5.00 materials' fee. Bring a flashlight, light colored clothes and summer attire, as well as rain gear. Linens will be provided for an additional $10. Lots of folks bring a sleeping bag and their own toiletries. No competition, purely the commraderie of making and flying kites together.
