Description:
The Whidbey Island Kite Festival is a small but very popular northwest event, including a 2-day AKA-sanctioned sportkite competition, single-line displays and open flying, kids' kitemaking, beginners' lessons, a teddybear drop for the kids, and a large raffle. AKA-sanctioned indoor fly at 7 pm in the high-school gym.
This event is well-attended by the public and grows every year. Held on grass and in a scenic location, it is the favorite local competition of most northwest competitors and many single-line flyers.
