The Junction Kite Makers' Retreat is an annual gathering of folks who are interested in kites, flying, making kites, the art thereof, and sharing. There are no competitions, but plenty of workshops, relaxing time to fly, visit, walk the nature trail, enjoy the wild life. This Retreat has been an annual event since 1988. In our 19th year, we invite you to celebrate kiting and the backdrop of nature’s beauty in the hill country of Texas.

Junction is at the intersection of I-10 and Hwy 83. The town is mostly to the south of I-10; Hwy 83 turns into Main Street through town. The campus is located 2 miles south of the town of Junction, TX. There is a sign, turn right at the golf course. Last year we had some road construction as the bridge over the Llano River was out, so you may need to watch for alternate directions, but ask anyone in town, everyone’s friendly and it’s not hard to find!

Instructor proposals are now being accepted through February 2007. Registration fees are waived for accepted Instructors. Registration is $225 and includes dorm style lodging (yes, Virginia, they're air-conditioned, hot showers), all meals - beginning with supper Friday evening and ending with lunch Monday noon, insurance, classes, pool, and all activities, including the BBQ Event under the pavillion outdoors. In some classes, a small additional fee might be required ($1 - $5) for materials. For linens (towels, bath mat, bedding) there is an additional $10 fee. There will also be a Silent Auction, lots of fun and generates the funds to keep the costs down and pay for the pre-registration for next year. All donations are greatly appreciated!
