Description:
The festival will feature kite contests and related activities for all ages. It will include traditional kite flying, kite demonstrations by the masters. Also, prizes will be awarded for the highest flying, most beautiful, and largest kite. Of course there will be a candy drop for the little ones. Team Air West 1997 U.S. Champions will take to the skies armed with L.E.D. lights mounted to their dual control high performance kites. The evening sky will be ablaze with kite lights streaking back and forth above the beach and pier. Admission to the Festival is free, kids under 10yrs and senior citizens will receive a free kite, (quantities limited), photo opportunities all day. There is plenty of pier parking available, and limited neighborhood parking nearby. Food and beverages are also available. Special Festival Guests: The Foundation for the Jr. Blind. The 3-piece band Island Breeze, and traditional Samoan dance group Heart of Polynesia.

Directions:
By car from Los Angeles Airport (LAX), south on Pacific Coast Highway approx. 10 miles, right on Catalina Ave. 1.5 miles on right, look for pier. Also, from the south, go north on PCH, use Torrance Blvd., turn left towards the beach. Pier will be .25 miles in front of you.
