Description:
Nationally ranked kite flyers that have been in high demand for festivals will perform mesmerizing feats as they dance their fantastic kites in the sky at the Paso Robles Kite Fest 2007. Done to colorful narration and awesome music, Kite Fest 2007 will provide a rare treat for festival attendees. This year, Kite Fest falls on Children’s Day, a national holiday in Japan dedicated to celebrating the health and happiness of all children. Attendees will get to see three gilded carp windsocks up to twenty-four feet in length. The carp is the symbol of strength in Japan. The free expert kite exhibition also includes stunt kite demonstrations and buggy demos by David Sabilino, a three time National Buggy Freestyle Champion. The youngest flyer, 16 year-old Champion, Andy Herzog, will demonstrate his skills as well. A variety of kites will be for sale so that festival-goers, too, may join the celestial flight. A special "candy drop" by an overhead kite is scheduled. Kite Fest 2007 will be held at Barney Schwartz Park, 2970 Union Road, Paso Robles on Saturday, May 5 from 2 – 5 p.m. Paso Roblan John Rollins has coordinated the line-up and will be one of the featured flyers. Also presenting their talents are kite flyers Dave Riddle, Josh Merril, and Ottmar Herzog. Kite Fest 2007 is sponsored by the City of Paso Robles, Library & Recreation Services.
