April 5 - 6 - Kitty Hawk Kites Fly Into Spring - Jockey’s Ridge State Park & Jockey’s Ridge Crossing (mp 12.5), Nags Head. Come and start off the kiting season right. April is National Kite Month!! Kitty Hawk Kites will be visiting local schools and youth groups to educate on kite flying and the history of aviation. Portions of the events proceeds will benefit Children & Youth Partnership, a local charity. We will have informal, free kite flying lessons, including a mass ascension, and lots of games, demos, and free kite making for the kids. This is a fun fly for all ages!
