Enjoy the splendor of Cape Henlopen State Park while attending the Great Delaware Kite Festival, the largest such event anywhere in the First State. This four-decade-old festival attracts thousands to the cape every year to watch competitors vie for 18 judged prizes in a wide variety of categories. Last year, spectators were treated to stunt kite-flying demonstrations by the Valli Boyz, a group of professional fliers who frequent this popular event.In addition to the flying contests, there will be food and kite vendors, as well as a kite raffle. Before you depart, be sure and visit the Seaside Nature Center to gander at the true flying attractions of Cape Henlopen State Park: the many species of shorebirds
