Description:

1st kite festival in Joplin, sponsored by Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Park & Recreation Department. Two day event with main activities on Saturday, with kite making & flying for children, dual & quad line demonstrations, single line flying, sport kite instruction for any interested people new to the sport, kite hospital for repairs. Sunday will be open fly.

From intersection of 7th Street (Route 66) and Shiffendecker, go 1/2 mile north on Shiffendecker, turn left onto 1st Street. Go 1/2 mile west to round-a-bout at edge of flying field.
