Description:

This is a family fun fly. We have enough sponsors that we don't have to charge admission. We also are giving the Dermer Sled kite to all kids. We also have free ice cream for the kids as well as free snack cakes . We're expecting AKA kiters from MO, OK, KS, and AR. We were rained out twice in May. Hope all Region 8 kiters can make it.

The 16 acre field is located off Exit 112 of I-540 in northwest Arkansas. We're actually in Fayetteville.

Comments:
We decided to make this a two day event to accommodate the out of state kiters.
Due to the Univ of AR hosting the NCAA National Track and Field Championship in Fayetteville, no hotel rooms are available. I have been able to secure rooms at the Mt. Sequoyah Conference and Retreat Center in Fayetteville. Rooms are $75 per night and if we can reserve 10 rooms the charge will drop to $60 per night. This is a beautiful location on the highest point in Fayetteville. Call them at 1-800-760-8126 for reservations and mention the Kite Fest. Liz Kilpatrick is the woman I'm working with on this.
