Description:
Joplin’s 2nd annual "Kites Over Route 66", a two day kite fest located just off of historic Route 66. AKA President Barbara Meyer and Past President Richard Dermer will be here for the entire event, along with kite pilots from Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas. A mass kite fly along the entire length of Route 66 is also scheduled, with Joplin being the hub for the event.

Directions:
West 7th Street in Joplin (also know as Route 66), to Shiffendecker street, turn north on Shiffendecker to 1st Street, west on 1st Street for approx 1/2 mile to field.
Comments:
This sanctioned AKA event will be on an open, flat 50 plus acre field. Kite vendors & food vendors will be on site. Event is sponsored by Joplin Parks & Recreation Department and the Joplin Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. This is a "FREE" event, open to the public, so, "COME FLY WITH US".
