Description:

The Whidbey Island Kite Festival is an annual event much-loved by kite enthusiasts and the local community. A four acre grass field on the edge of Puget Sound affords a lovely arena for fun and relaxation. Sportkite competition, indoor competition, single-line challenges, two mass ascensions, kids' kitemaking, sportkite lessons, and teddy-bear drop for kids.

Directions:
From South: Mukilteo ferry to Clinton, north 22 miles to Left turn towards Fort Casey/Keystone Ferry. Field is 1/4 mile past ferry dock.
From North: Hwy 20 south through Oak Harbor. At Coupeville light, go right; ~3 miles south to field on right (just before ferry dock.)
From West: Pt. Townsend ferry to Keystone (ferry reservations strongly recommended, if not required). Off of ferry, take left and go 1/4 mile to field.

Sportkite competition registration online at www.whidbeykites.org. Pre-registration by September 1st strongly encouraged. Pre-order field lunches by September 1st. Limited food available at field. Pre-order shirts to ensure desired size/color. Free parking. List of local lodging available on our website.
