Description:
Wind Energy continues to be a topic of conversation in Wyoming and all around the nation. In fact, Wyoming recently became the first state to impose an excise tax on wind energy production. Carbon County Higher Education Center is proud to host the 2nd Annual Celebration of Wind on Friday, May 14 – Saturday, May 15, 2010. Join us as we learn about transmission lines, the controversies surrounding wind energy, wind energy topics currently under discussion, employment opportunities, renewable energy options for residential homes and more. The Celebration of Wind will feature radio-controlled helicopters, paper airplanes, dog Frisbee contests, and, of course, kites. Bring your favorite kite as we attempt to get over 3500 kites in the air at one time. Visit www.cchec.org for more information and schedule updates. This event is free to the public.
