Don Jacobs Toyota Family Kite Festival on May 29th and 30th Mark your calendars for The Don Jacobs Toyota Family Kite Festival on May 29th and 30th ( Memorial Day weekend) taking place in Veterans Park on Milwaukee’s lakefront from 10 am until 6 pm on Saturday and 5pm on Sunday. The Parade of Kiters, introducing our performers, will take place at 11:30 and the Caribou Coffee Grand Launch of over 500 kites will take off at noon on both Saturday and Sunday. The performers will start around 12:20 pm right after recording artist Rhonda Begos sings the National Anthem. The Radio Disney Kids Mad Dash will take place around 1:20 pm on both days. Directions:
Milwaukee is: 1-1/2 hour drive from Madison (via I-94) 1-1/2 hour drive from Chicago (via I-90), 5-1/2 hour drive from Minneapolis/St. Paul (via I-94). From the west, straight into Milwaukee and head to I-794, exit Lincoln Memorial drive! Easy!! From the South, exit at "Lakefront" exit, and east to the lake!! From the north, exit "Lakefront and then east to the Lake! Veterans Park is north of the freeway exit on Lincoln Memorial Drive.
