Description:
Kite flying is one of the most common entertainments across Asia, and this family-friendly event will be a showcase of kites of all shapes and sizes from Asian countries. Throughout the 2011 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the New Mexico Asian Family Center (NMAFC) will have “Asian Kite Flying & Kite Sales†every day at the Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum grounds. This is a part of the Museum event “Lighter Than Air Fair,†which is organized by the Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum Foundation. All the benefits of kite sales will go to a local 501 (c) 3 non-profit agency, New Mexico Asian Family Center (NMAFC). NMAFC is the only service provider in NM specifically serving Asian immigrants and their families in need by providing culturally sensitive counseling, case-management work, and other services both in Asian languages and in English.
