Description:
This event is a St. Johns Splash Park Fundraiser to be held at Uncle John’s Cider Mill, five miles north of St. Johns, MI. They're sponsoring a "First Annual Let’s Go Fly a Kite for Splash Park Day" on Saturday, May 12, 2012, with a back-up day on Sunday, May 13. This is intended to be a kids fun day for families with the UJCM facility open for kite flying activities and education. Plus, we'll have "make a kite" arts and craft workshop. Admission will be $5 per student for kite flying and recreational activities (bounce house, etc.) Wagon rides, food, and refreshments also available. Kids could bring their own kites or UJCM will have kites for sale. The plan is to invite 750 Clinton County elementary school kids (public and private schools) and their families to the event where they can get some exercise flying kites and spending quality family time at UJCM. Lastly, the City of St. Johns and Citizens for Splash Park are undertaking major fundraising campaign to build a 4,000 square foot splash park for general area families. The cost to construct is estimated to be approximately $400,000 and campaign is in full swing here in 2012. We intend this to be a modern, family-friendly facility, a safe place to play and exercise that can be operated at minimal cost to city government. UJCM and its First Annual Go Fly a Kite Day is an important fundraising activity for the Splash Park.
