Description:
This is a fun fly with emphasis on participation. There are no contests or vendors. There is lots of fun and fellowship with a little bit of showing off in the center stage. We have time and space for children and old people and a special place for hot dogs. Come on down and have fun and join in the event.
Activities include fun flys, demonstrations, and how to fly sessions in designated areas. All ages are involved at different times. Kite building for kids is featured with a seperate mass ascension for kids only. 1000 people attend with a maximum of several hundred flying at any time. Separate areas are designated for stunt kites, BIG kites, single line kites, and demos. Power lines are at least 1/2 mile away and the nearest private airstrip is 10 miles away.

US 70 or NC 58 to the NC coast. Cross the bridge to the island and stop before you go in the ocean.

This is the 25th year of Kites Unlimited sponsoring this family fun event.
Come if you like to fly kites with others and help new flyers get better.
Special events are scheduled as the wind permits and the dolphins will likely be swimming by.
The weather is great and the people are too. Join us for an old fashioned kite fly.
