Description:
The Farmland Center Saturday (May 4th) will debut an exhibit of kites made by the late legendary Farmland kite-maker Ansel Toney. The Ansel Toney Kite Show will begin with an opening reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit will remain on display through August 31 during The Farmland Center's regular business hours. Historic Farmland USA Director Darrin Murrell said Ansel Toney, perhaps more than any other resident of Farmland, truly embodied the essence of what the local community is all about - talent, craftsmanship, hard work, artistic expression, individualism and integrity. "He was also noted for his homespun friendliness and warmth with which he greeted every guest and poured into every kite he ever made," Murrell said. - Quoted from the Windchester (Indiana) News-Gazette
