Description:
In the 1980’s a group of young parents in the railroad town of Lamy, New Mexico had a small kite festival. Everyone who attended never forgot it even though the owner of the land forbade further use.
So when one of our organizers passed away two years ago, we all decided to have the kite festival again in his honor, that’s Mark Lee, and all the other kids who had such a good time way back when.
Galisteo has the perfect flying fields. Our limitless horizons have been filmed in over 28 Hollywood movies. the annual rode has been going on forever and we all like a good time.
This year we’ll try to recreate that same feeling by keeping it small and family friendly at the local rodeo grounds (owned by Rudy Sena).
Its’ hopefully a sunny windy day on Saturday, April 26th 2014 between 10 A.M. and 3 P.M.
