The first ever Kites On The Green will be held on Saturday, May 3rd from 2 to 7:30 p.m. on the grounds of Johnston Commons, located near the Johnston Public Library. Kites On The Green will be a wonderful opportunity for central Iowans to come together for a family friendly festival as beautiful colors fill the Johnston sky. People of all ages and abilities are welcome to come and fly kites. Professional kite flyers will be on hand with their amazing display of kites. Check out the celebrity bol races. Eat delicious food. Listen to great music. Win a kite-flying contest. The festival is completely free. Kite kits will be available for anyone who does not have a kite. We hope to see you on May 3!

Take Merle Hay Exit off Interstate 80/35. Head north into Johnston on Merle Hay Road. Take a left on Northglenn Dr. (Kum & Go gas station on corner). Once you take a left - you are there. Parking in library lot, or at warehouse next door.
