Description:
Ever wondered how much string it takes to fly a kite a mile high? Only a couple hundred feet bif you attend the Mile High Kite Festival on Beech Mountain. This is a wonderful tradition on Beech Mountain, as the community welcomes back the Richmond Air Force and Wings Across Carolina Kiting and Okra Society Kiting Clubs. They will demonstrate flying techniques, and also display their kites. Contests will be held for the best decorated, smallest and largest kites. The first 300 kids will get a free kite for the competition, or kites can be purchased at the event or bring their own.
