Description:
4th Annual Col. Muray Memorial Kite Festival. This is a low impact kite festival that keeps growing in its popularity each year. It is a fun fly, with many activities for children and families, and those who just want to come out and fly for fun. We encourage flyers to lend a hand with those just learning. There is a kids-n-kites area. Our goal this year is to get kites into those in our communiites and elsewhere that may be differently challenged, seniors, and of course to get those who may get hooked on flying. Col. Murray was one of the first pioneers in the midwest to put some practical applications to ariel kite photgraphy in the late 1890’s. He moved to NW Indiana and settled Sunset Hill Farm to operate a diary business, which was later given to Porter County as a park. Looking for fliers to come and fly their colors in demonstration and fun. Let’s show them what kite flying can be... Contact Porter County Parks 219-465-3586
