KiteFest is Alta Mira’s annual fund and brand raising event drawing hundreds of participants to Balloon Fiesta Park for an enjoyable day of kite flying and activities for families in the New Mexico sunshine. Alta Mira is a member of the American Kite Flyers Association and as a result professional kite flyers travel from different states to demonstrate and fly their unique kites. To learn more about Alta Mira visit: www: AltaMiraNM.org KiteFest is always held the last Saturday in April.

There is plenty of airspace to fly kites at Balloon Fiesta Park! KiteFest represents our community coming together in support of helping people with disabilities and developmental risks. At Alta Mira, our motto is "Everyone deserves a chance to fly".
