Description:
Not only inexpensive and fun, kites can be used as powerful tools for positive social change. From promoting healing from grief or trauma, to raising awareness about various social issues, or to encourage urban/community planning officials to think differently about use of public recreational space, this event has something for everyone.
Teachers, kids, social workers, therapists, community development officials, parents, and any who wish to learn more are welcome to attend this free public event.
Air savant and Macomb Kite Festival Organizer Heather McMeekan, M.S., presents this wonderful intro to the magic of flying kites while raising awareness of the power of community change that can be possible simply by promoting kites to area children, schools, organizations, and decision-making groups.
