NOW GO FLY A KITE! The Wheaton Park District, Gift of Wings, and the Kite Society of WI & IL are proud to present the 8th Annual Wheaton "GO FLY A KITE" Kite Festival as part of the Tour de Kites. This event is planned for Saturday, MAY 7, 2016 in Graf Park from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. In April, 2010, in conjunction with Wheaton’s annual Celebration, Wheaton residents attempted to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the most kites flown simultaneously (967 kites). We had over 1,100 notarized registrants that day, and launched over 900 kites all at the same time. The families that came out for the event had a great time, so we are ready to “give it another try.” Flying for the 6th time, The World renowned Chicago Fire Kite Team, Dan Newman, Mike Delfar, O2, and Fire and Ice, and Elizabeth Gordon. The Wheaton Eye Clinic Kids Mad Dash will take place at 1:00pm and the Candy drop will take place between shows. Check this out! The Grand Launch will take place at 11:00.
