Description:
The NATIONAL AIR & SPACE MUSEUM (NASM) 2nd Annual Kite Day includes Indoor Flying demos, Discussions with AKA Master Fliers & Kite Makers, Exhibits of Award Winning Kites, Kite Stamp Exhibit and Petitions, Miniature Kite Display, and Kite Making Workshops. The events are all free and open to the general public. The events start at 10:00 and end at 4:00 EST. NASM’s Kite Day is advertised in the Washington, DC and Maryland newspapers and usually is covered by radio and TV. Kite Day is a joint event by the Aeronautical, Educational, and Public Affairs Departments at NASM. There is information available to the public about the AKA and its affiliated clubs. Kites made by the public during Kite Day usually number about 1700. NASM’s attendance per day on a week end is about 30,000. LOTS of Kite information is distributed!!
