Description:

We host more than 2000 folks in the beautiful Rockfish Valley, who come out to make and fly kites. This exciting day features free kites for the first 500 children to create, fly, and take home, professional kite flying demonstrations, family friendly live music, a rubber duck race on the south Rockfish River, a kids nature tent, and the results of an elementary school kite making contest. AKA members show up to fly kite demos and to introduce children to this exciting hobby.

Directions:
|
Take exit 99 from Interstate 64 (Blue Ridge Parkway). Take highway 250 to VA 151. Glenthorne Loop is through Nellysford, before the turn to Wintergreen Ski Resort. The festival is in the big fields behind Bold Rock Cidery.
