April is National Kite Month, and the Berks County Parks and Recreation Department is proud to present our popular “Go Fly a Kite! Day” Festival for over 30 years!
This year’s event is once again united with a county-wide YMCA Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 28 from noon to 5:00 pm, at the Youth Recreation Facility, located at 1098 County Road, in Bern Township; with a rain date of Sunday, April 29.
This Free fun active event will have something for everyone in your family! Your kids can come fly a kite, plant a garden, experience the YMCA’s Summer Day Camp program, get some great health and wellness information, taste test some healthy food, and meet local law enforcement personnel. Kite Contest judging begins at 1:30 pm.
* Sled Kite Contests: 1:30, 2:45 & 4:00 pm (all ages)
* Newspaper Kite Contest: 2:15 pm.
* Homemade Kite Contest: 3:30 pm.

From Rt. 183 and 222 intersection, take Rt. 183 north to traffic light at West Leesport Rd., Turn Left onto West Leesport Rd. to Stop sign. Turn right onto County Rd., continue approx. 4/10 of a mile, turn left into facility at barn.
